The Asian Snacks Bazaar is one of our major events that happens 2-3 times a year. It was originally introduced to our school in 2018 by our then Vice-President Bui Thi Truc Quynh aka "Kate". An event that allows us, students, to taste all different kinds of snacks from Asia and all the profit of the event is given to a charity chosen by the Student Council. Everyone at school enjoys the Asian Snacks Bazaar, but no one really knows how it works. So, I want to show you how we organized our Asian Snack Bazaar:
1.Make a Plan
In order to organize an Asian Snacks Bazaar, you need a set-up team, a sales team, a delivery team, a list of produce to order, a charity to donate to, and a treasurer.
2. Make a List
The Executive Committee will have a meeting together to decide on the number of snacks and teas needed.
3. Find a Charity
Our Vice-President, Etele Solomontchik, was usually the person who would research and give us a list of charities, and the decision is made either by the Executive Committee or the Student Council. These past years we have been donating to the charity funds "Хрупкие Люди" and "Подари Жизнь".
4. Order
Since 2018, we have been working with DoAnVat Moscow (DAV). This job was usually done by our then Vice-President Kate, but since she graduated, I have been in charge; I send the list of necessary snack foods to the owner of DAV.
5. Delivery
For this step, I go to the DAV restaurant and help the owner with packing the snacks and teas. After packing up, I order a taxi and deliver the snacks and teas to school.
6. Sell
When I arrive, the set-up team is always already at the school gate ready to help me carry the snacks and teas. The sales team would be ready at the selling point and set up all the snacks and teas on the table. The bell rings for the break, and it’s time to make bank.
7. Donate
Most of the time, we sold snacks for about an hour. The sales team would take the money we had made and would give it to the treasurer, Vitaly Stolyarchuk. He would calculate everything and tell us the revenue and profit. Then, we would take the profit and donate to our charity of choice!
